Looking back, the past 15-odd days has flown really quickly. School last week was undoubtedly one of the best ever - I made my first ever steak, roasted my first ever chicken, cooked all sort of foods for the very first time. On top of that I generally received positive feedback (if not compliments) from the chefs I mean what in the world?? Even I myself was surprised, pleasantly surprised of course. Not that I'm being an air-head here but being thanked by the chefs in return for making for them "good food" to evaluate was really the ultimate confidence boost for me. I felt genuinely appreciated for my efforts and the feeling is just... shiok lor, seriously. Likewise the entire experience of creating delish entrees, though always hurried and having to succumb to a lot of pressure, was most often times enjoyable.
But of course like what Chef Gypsy said, with the good days come the bad ones too. I wouldn't wanna delve too deep into this but all I can say is like in Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." All means the good, the bad, the ugly and what-have-yous. And as always, take everything as a learning experience (and hopefully, I pray and I pray and I pray, I will keep this in mind).
Ah before I end off this post, let's share some good news: Dad's coming back tomorrow (saying that he wanna come back to 'play' and 'bring us around' right smack in the middle of my bros' Mid-years and when I'm just beginning Culi Prac wow Dad good timing much? Ha but really appreciated though) yay glad to have him back!! And and and Sharon's coming back tomorrow too jeng jeng jeng jeng!! Can't wait to see this girl wow it's been 9 months?? So much catching up to be done hehe.
So anyway my first ever practical test is coming up this Friday and as much as I'm nervous I'm pretty excited too. Gonna keep my fingers crossed and pray that the rest of this week will go smoothly!
