Moving mountains
I had been in my mum's hometown (a.k.a. the city of good food) in the past week, and boy I gained weight (again). However while I was visiting my distant relatives back in Medan, I received a lot of (supposedly) compliments about how I am less fleshy as compared to when I was much younger. Not sure if the irony is a cue for me to laugh or to cry, but thank be to God for my tall frame! Can't imagine how much more rotund I'll look if I was to be inches shorter. And so speaking of which I will commence my exercise regime and strict dieting from today till... I go back to Indo again. Ugh the thought sickens me because I'll be "deported" back to my city of birth where there'll be more feasting in another 8 days' time, and this means that my efforts to shed some kilos may or may not be successful. Sigh this calls for the ringing of the depression bell :(
On another note, the graduation night ten days ago was just... meh. With each bite or crunch or munch or sip of the food, my heart ached with increasing intensity at the thought of the chance to be in USS on that day instead of being stuck in a hotel ballroom with 300 people... Ha I kid. The food wasn't really spectacular, and neither were the activities planned. But I'm thankful for all my friends who came, they did make the night much more enjoyable. And literally everyone looked splendid that night!! The girls were as gorgeous in their dresses as much as the boys in their tuxes and blazers. Well maybe with the exception of me who was seen as dressing up as a witch for Halloween. Geez I wasn't expecting that, but maybe I could have experimented with more make-up and twist my outfit a little bit more to make myself look like Mary-Kate Olsen (or was it Ashley?) as the witch in "Beastly". Nevertheless I enjoyed myself that night and that's all that matters, right?
Hmm it's time to run some more errands and get some work done. Happy December everyone!!
