I guess it is part of human nature for humans to develop a sense of attachment towards other people. Well maybe not every single person on the planet, but there are those who have been hurt and all they want is some love and acceptance from those they trust, or at least those who they are close to. Yes we can't actually stop others from feeling what they feel, but with attachment comes assumptions then comes expectations, which will all lead to disappointments most of the time because at the end of the day, not everyone is going to reciprocate the same feeling.

I'm not saying that we can't trust people. We can, but why not trust the One who is greater than all of us? "To each his own" - each of us have our own difficulties and we need personal space. I have my own problems shoved up my throat and sometimes I stomach it all, not because I don't trust those who are dear to me, but because when I look around, each and everyone of us already have our fair share of difficulties, so it is almost pointless to probe and burden others with our own.

And this is also why we have God, right? Humans disappoint but Jesus will never do so. This is why we can trust Him. Yeah talk is cheap and anyone can preach but hey, you wouldn't know unless you do it. Trying is never enough, we have to keep persevering till the end. Think about the times when we had wasted so much of our time trying to solve our own problems with our own strength  but failed. And then at the end of the day, we run back to God, stick Him with a "I'm sorry please forgive me and help me" sticker and wait till He makes a move - which many wouldn't have the patience to - and then we go back to grabbing hold of our problems and try doing things our way. Eventually, we go back to square one. To be honest I'm guilty of this too, but we really just have to keep holding on to God's promises. We may not see His heart but we can see His hand in the things that He do, big or small. Yeah this sounds like a real nag, but keep on praying and trusting in Him and His Word. That is really all we have to do.

That is all you have to do, too.
